Spring is the most wonderful time of the year – the days start to get longer and the temperatures warmer, which means if ever there was a time to enjoy a beer, it’s now.
With this in mind, Felons Brewing Co. have put together a Spring Feast to remember, consisting of a seafood dinner with an Australian twist.
Held on Tuesday 22 October at 6pm, tickets to the Spring Feast are $75 and guests will enjoy three courses matched to four of Felons Brewing Co’s beers.
At Felons Brewing Co’s Spring Feast, guests will hear from head brewer Tom Champion and Howard Smith Wharves Executive Chef Patrick Friesen about the best beer options to pair with food as the weather starts to warm up.
While the cooler months are perfect for darker, richer beers, lighter and more refreshing styles of beer begin to emerge during Spring in the lead up to summer.
Champion said of the dinner, “Our Spring Feast is a great chance for our guests to try our limited release Red Ale and Blood Orange Sour, which are a great choice for Spring as they are slightly lighter than the beers usually consumed throughout winter. Beers ideal for Spring aren’t as heavy on the palate and are generally lighter in colour.”
At the Spring Feast, guests will enjoy a selection of seafood featuring Oysters & Clams paired with Crisp Lager, followed by an Australian boil of Crabs, Lobster, Prawns, Potato, Corn & sides matched with both Felons Brewing Co’s Blood Orange Sour and Australian Pale Ale. To finish, there will be a seasonal gelato paired with the limited release Red Ale.
Howard Smith Wharves Executive Chef, Patrick Friesen, who created the menu for the Spring Feast, said, “Seafood is quite delicate, so it was important when creating the menu not to overpower the food with the flavour of the beers.
The pairings have been carefully considered, and we’re looking forward to introducing our Spring Feast guests to a unique seafood dinner.”
