Dimples | Balter Brewing Company
Dimples is the first release from Balter’s series of experimental IPAs planned this year.
Balter says the series will explore what new hop types can bring to IPA recipes.
It’s named ‘Dimples’ after the new hop varieties HBC630 and HBC692 that were used in the brew, due to the bumpy surface of its flower.
Dimples is available in 500ml cans in limited quantities across Australia.
Unicorn Beer | Bad Shepherd
Bad Shepherd has released Unicorn Beer as part of its Brew Crew series.
Bad Shepherd say the beer is purple in colour because of the butterfly pea flower, a natural colouring additive used in a variety of teas.
Based on a BRUT IPA, it has a dry finish with a hint of peach.
It comes in at 5.5% abv and 14 IBU, brewed with Galaxy hops and Heidelberg malt.
Compass Sour (Mango Edition) | Braeside Brewing Co
Melbourne’s Braeside Brewing Co has launched its Compass Sour Mango Edition.
The 3.8% abv brew is a kettle soured ale with 50 fresh mangoes, and dry hopped with Amarillo.
According to Braeside, it’s zesty, with notes of stone fruit, wheat and of course sour.
Now available at Braeside’s tap room in Mordialloc.
Hazy IPA | Holgate Brewhouse
Hazy IPA is the latest special release from Holgate Brewhouse.
Holgate say they went for big-and-fruity hop character through adding massive amounts of Amarillo, Azacca and Mosaic.
Malt additions include Pale, Munich, Crystal, Oats and Wheat.
At 6.8% abv and 30 IBU, the beer will be available for a limited time in 500ml cans.
FREE THE NEIPA | Young Henrys
Young Henrys Brewing has released FREE THE NEIPA, brewed especially for this year’s International Women’s Day.
Young Henrys say the hazy NEIPA was led by the women of Young Henrys every step of the way, and 10 per cent of profits from the sale of the beer to the Two Good Co, a social enterprise that supports vulnerable woman regain their independence.
The beer was infused with bergamot citrus fruit, with Taiheke and Denali, and Lemondrop, Azacca, Ariana and Pink Boots blend at various dry hop stages.
At 5.8% abv it includes Pale, Rolled Wheat and Rolled Oats.
It will be available from the 6th of March at select stockists.
Raspberry Sour and Sweet Stout | Ballistic Beer Co
Ballistic Beer Co has dropped two new collaboration brews as part of its Art of Blending series.
The series consist of different beers, brewed with to be mixed and create a completely new flavour.
At 4.5% abv, the Raspberry Sour was brewed in collaboration with Melbourne based Carwyn Cellars.
It combines Pale and Wheat malt with US 05 yeast and raspberry.
The 4.5% abv Sweet Stout was brewed with the Brewski Bar and includes Marris Otter, Munich, Light Crystal, Roasted
The two beers blend to create a drink reminiscent of a chocolate coated raspberry.
