New Beers Wrap

Ballistic Beer Co ‘Sleep When You’re Dead’ New England IPA

Ballistic Beer Co‘s Sleep When You’re Dead series has risen again with the re-release of its New England IPA.

“The last batch of this New England IPA sold out very quickly so we thought we would brew it again,” Ballistic Head Brewer Lachy Crothers said.

“We have tweaked the hop bill a little but it’s still the juicy, hopped-filled beer it was last time – if anything, it’s a little juicier with an even smoother, slight bitterness that makes the NEIPA style so popular.”

Available from January 24 in kegs and cans, this beer will be cold shipped to craft beer bars and bottle shops as soon as it’s packaged.

Bad Shepherd Brewing Co ‘DDH Strawberry Milkshake IPA’

Packaged only yesterday, Bad Shepherd‘s latest beer release is a double dry hopped Strawberry Milkshake IPA brewed with flaked oats, apple puree, wheat and 100 kilograms of lactose. Late hopped with Citra and Mosaic in the whirlpool and then dry hoppedduringfermentation with Citra, Barbara Rouge and Huell Melon, this IPA was then dosed with 600-litres of strawberry puree and a pinch of vanilla. The beer was then dry hopped, again.

Available from February 5 in 440ml cans, this Milkshake IPA comes in at 6% ABV.

Holgate Brewhouse ‘600 Above Citrus Saison’

Holgate Brewhouse, located 600 meters above sea level at the foot of Mount Macedon in Central Victoria, is ideal for cool-climate brewing.

Holgate’s 600 Above Citrus Saison is one of its two new-release beers for summer. At6.2% ABV, this Saison was brewed with ruby grapefruits, limes, mandarins and oranges, and hopped with a new German variety called Saphir.

This beer has been brewed as a summer seasonal farmhouse ale.

Holgate Brewhouse ‘The Commissioner’ Grapefruit Sour IPA

Holgate‘s second new-release beer has been brewed to put the Woodend brewery’s brand new production facility through its paces.

The Commissioner IPA is a hoppy, kettle sour brewed with Topaz, Mandarina Bavaria and Wakatu hops and loaded with Australian ruby grapefruit for a citrus kick.

4 Pines ‘Kiwi Brut IPA’

The first 4 Pines Brewing Co Keller Door small-batch release of 2019 is the Kiwi Brut IPA.

“Beached as in the Pacific and slinging choice flavours as big as rugby players, comes this skux deluxe New Zealand taste sensation for a new generation of IPAs. Born deep within the hobbit holes and guarded by Tolkienesque cave trolls, it’s a chilly-bin worthy mean-as Kiwi Brut IPA.”

At 7% ABV, this IPA features 100 per cent New Zealand hops and freshly puréed kiwi fruit. Enzyme additions at the cold side of the brewing process have ensured this beer exhibits that signature ‘brut’ dryness of this, newly popular beer style.

This limited release is available at select bottleshops nationally and at 4 Pines venues.
