As well as Stone & Wood, big brewer Lion has been able to offer credit for kegs to venues struggling following the mandatory closure of much of the hospitality industry on Monday (23rd March).
To support customers impacted by government-mandated closures of pubs, bars, clubs and venues around the country from Monday 23 March in response to COVID-19, independent Northern Rivers brewery Stone & Wood is offering credit to venues holding full unopened kegs of all Stone & Wood beers.
Alongside the business and hospitality communities, Stone & Wood has acknowledged the unprecedented impact that the COVID-19 pandemic is having on its trade partners, their families and their teams.
As a result, Stone & Wood, whose Tasting Rooms in Byron Bay and Brisbane have closed until further notice (except for a takeaway window at both venues), is reaching out to its customers with the offer of credit for full unopened kegs, for all its beers.
Stone & Wood Leader Nick Boots said this decision reflected the importance of the independent brewery’s longstanding customer relationships and the desire to lend a hand.
“We pride ourselves on being a long-term partner of the pub and club trade – in the good and the bad times,” Nick said. “While it’s a significant cost for an independent family-owned business like us, we know it’s the right thing to do for the industry in this time of need.”
“Our trade partners and drinkers expect fresh beer, so although we’re unlikely to reuse any returned kegs, we hope by crediting returned kegs we’ll be able to deliver fresh Stone & Wood beers using these credits when the current restrictions are lifted.”
To access a full credit, kegs must be capped with the original cap for quality and safety purposes, be within the best before date and must be received by Stone & Wood by 30 April.
Stone & Wood’s sister distribution company Square Keg is also offering the same credit to its customers.
Both companies have requested patience from their valued customers while they process the large number of requests over the coming weeks.
