Sunshine Coast brewery Your Mates has been providing keg setups for customers and is keen to do more. At the same time it has shut its drive-though operation, but continuing its takeaway menu only. Tasmania’s Moo Brew is releasing its limited edition IPA into its core range. The team said it sold like hotcakes as a limited release, earning its place amongst its usual culprits; Pale Ale, Pilsner, Session Ale, Dark Ale and Single Hop. The limited edition release was also awarded a gold medal at the 2019 Australian International Beer Awards. It’s a 6.66% ABV IPA whose hop profile consists of Simcoe, Mosaic and Citra.
Brisbane’s Range Brewing has celebrated its two-year anniversary with its celebratory beer running out fast, leading it to post on a Facebook message that it had sold a third of its beers online and two thirds in the brewery, which led to a queue in which the brewery said people waited in for hours.
Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation Queensland has clarified restrictions on tastings under stage one of the lockdown ease. It said that tastings can take place at venues with a producer/wholesaler licence, including breweries and wineries, provided it is served at the table with a meal and risk controls, in accordance with the COVID Safe Checklist, are in place. In NSW, the state government has announced that pubs will be allowed up to 50 patrons from June 1st.
South Australia has brought forward the relaxation of rules around pub openings. From Friday, all cafes and restaurants will be permitted to seat up to a total of 20 patrons (10 inside and 10 outside) and also to sell alcohol to diners. From Friday June 5th, all pubs across the state will be permitted to open.
Mornington Peninsula breweries including St Andrews Beach Brewery, Jetty Road Brewery, Dainton Brewery, Two Bays Brewing Co, Red Hill Brewery and the Mornington Peninsula Brewery have launched the Beach Box, a mixed 12-pack which combines two styles of beer from each of the six breweries.
