Moo Brew is pleased to announce the appointment of new General Manager, Lauren Sheppard, and new Head Brewer, Jack Viney.

Both Jack and Lauren join Moo Brew from within the Mona family; Jack has worked as a brewer with Moo Brew since late 2014 and Lauren joins the brewery from Moorilla and Domaine A.

Lauren has led business operations, sales and export for Moorilla and Domaine A for a number of years. She has an intimate understanding of the Australian drinks industry and a passion for local production. Lauren will play a vital role in growth for Tasmania’s largest independent craft brewery.

Jack began his brewing career when he joined Moo Brew over five years ago. Since then, he has been involved in every aspect of the brewing process and is deeply familiar with the style and flavours of the Moo Brew range.

Lauren Sheppard says: “Having spent many years working with two of Tasmania’s best wineries, I’m really pleased to be keeping it in the Mona family with my move into the world of craft brewing. It’s such an exciting time to be a woman working in the beer industry and I’m eager to dive right in.”

Jack Viney says: “I’m so thrilled to be taking this next step with Moo Brew. It’s been amazing to learn and grow with the team these last five years and I can’t wait to start this next chapter. I’m especially looking forward to building on the brand’s reputation for brewing really great beers, whether that’s a classic Pale Ale or a limited edition Hazy.”

Mona Co-CEO, Mark Wilsdon says: “Together, Jack and Lauren bring a wealth of expertise and knowledge to their roles. Jack is an exceptional brewer and is already intimately familiar with Moo Brew’s particular brand of nonsense. And Lauren’s many years of experience in commercial winemaking make her an incredible asset to the Moo Brew team. We can’t wait to see what these two achieve.”

Lauren will join the brewery in mid-July, and Jack will take on Head Brewer duties as of Monday 22 June.

As previously announced, Dave Macgill will be departing his role of Head Brewer and General Manager at Moo Brew at the end of this month to pursue a new Tasmanian-based project. The Moo Brew team wish him all the best.
