Newcomer to the beer scene, Bojak Brewing in Melbourne’s outer south east, is making its mark and showing that an honest beer and food offering paired with a welcoming indoor and outdoor space will grow an appreciative local following.
Run by a young couple with a young family, from whom the brewery derives its name, Bojak Brewing shows that with the right kit, the right setup and the right amount of hard work, a small suburban brewpub can be a sustainable model. Pete caught up with Dale and Sue Messina from Bojak Brewing as they shared their origin story the thought behind the planning and execution of the dream and their plans for the future.
It’s a wide-ranging chat and a good listen for those seeking a great family-friendly venue in the ‘burbs and for those thinking that they, too, might want to join the growing list of small independent breweries in Australia.
Enjoy the conversation.
