Drinkworks, the Australian sales and marketing arm of DB Breweries Limited, has expanded its team by 28 increasing capability across the company.

The moves comes after Heineken’s wholly-owned Australasian subsidiary acquired the rights to Stella Artois and Beck’s in Australia, as well as ownership of Strongbow, Little Green and Bonamy’s cider in January.

Drinkworks said the expansion reflects the company’s serious growth intentions.

Drinkworks’ General Manager, Judd Michel, said the new hires increases company expertise across the board.

“To support our significantly strengthened world-class portfolio of premium brands and expand the company’s offering to customers, hires have been made across sales, marketing, supply chain, finance and the Drinkworks leadership team to manage distribution, volume, retail and on-premise customers across the country,” he said.

“The increase in staff across the field, sales team in particular means, we are expanding into South Australia and the Northern Territory, and now service all states and territories in Australia,” says Michel.

David Segreto has been appointed new National Sales Manager and will lead Customer Engagement across Field Sales (on and off-premise), Grocery, Independents and Banner Groups.

Segreto joins Drinkworks with almost 20 years in the drinks business working for big names such as Bacardi, Diageo and McWilliams Wines.

Richard Knight joins Heineken Group Australia / Drinworks as Senior Marketing Manager after a period of consulting. He has has over 15 years industry experience having worked in beer marketing predominantly with Lion, managing brands such as XXXX, James Boags, Tooheys, West End and EMU.

The five new brands added in January joined the Drinkworks lineup of international premium and craft beers and ciders including Tiger, Monteith’s, Sol, Orchard Thieves, Bintang, and Kingfisher.
