Endeavour Group will be hosting Professor Michael Kidd AM, Deputy Chief Medical Officer, in a livestream Q&A session on vaccinations for its team, and has opened up the session to the wider drinks and hospitality business industry.

“Hospitality is one of the industries hit hardest by the COVID-19 pandemic, from closing down during outbreaks to staff at increased risk of contracting the disease,” Professor Kidd said.

“Australians have access to safe and effective vaccines but, unfortunately, there is misinformation in the community. I am pleased to have the opportunity to answer questions and allay any concerns, so people can make informed decisions about getting the jab.

“I particularly encourage younger team members under 40 years of age to tune in, as they become eligible for the Pfizer vaccine from this week.”

Many of Endeavour Group’s 28,000 team members – which includes store teams, hospitality workers and teams at warehouses and wineries – will be joining the session. Endeavour Group has also extended the invitation to the wider drinks and hospitality industry.

“The government has said that vaccination is key to opening up the country, and we want to do everything we can to support the vaccine rollout, including empowering our teams with information from a trusted medical expert such as Professor Kidd about their choices when it comes to vaccination,” Endeavour Group’s Managing Director Steve Donohue said.

“We want to open up pubs, clubs and restaurants in a safe way because these places bring communities together and our hospitality teams are eager to get back to work. We want to protect our frontline teams in stores who have been working endlessly throughout the pandemic as an essential service, and we want to keep our customers and patrons safe. The vaccine rollout will be a critical component in all of this,” he added.

The livestream session is taking place on Thursday 2nd September between 10am-11am, and the Q&A will be led by Mr Donohue who will ask questions on behalf of the industry and team, and participants will also be able to submit questions live.

Endeavour Group offers full time and part time team members paid leave to get vaccinated, and a range of other support for team members if they are impacted by the pandemic. This includes special support measures for team members and their families if they are self isolating in line with advice from the health authorities.

“We strongly encourage our team members to get vaccinated, which is why we have tried to make it as easy as possible for team members to do so,” Mr Donohue explained.

Drinks and hospitality members wanting to join the Q&A session can join the session on Thursday 2nd September at 10am (EST) via the following link: https://kapara.rdbk.com.au/landers/82039a.html.
