Independently owned Queensland brewery, Ballistic Beer Co. has placed 8th in this year’s GABS Hottest 100 craft beer poll with its popular Hawaiian Haze Pale Ale. The accolades didn’t stop there with another three beers in the countdown, further proving they are an established force in the craft beer market with quality beers across a number of different styles.

Ballistic Beer Co’s repeated success in the countdown was accompanied by their uniqueness in the beer market; with the only stout in the countdown, their Mexican Hot Chocolate Stout which placed at 80th, placing one of only two Hazy’s in the top ten with of course the Hawaiian Haze Pale Ale and placing two debut beers in the list with their Low Ha Low Carb craft beer and Hawaiian Haze IPA at 96th and 48th respectively.

Hawaiian Haze Pale Ale has been Ballistic Beer Co’s flagship brand since its inception in 2019 when the brewers and staff wanted to create ‘the best ‘knock off work’ beer’ they possibly could. Hawaiian Haze Pale Ale has seen a significant increase in its distribution across the country over the last couple of years and placing in the top ten two years in a row is a clear reflection of that.

Ballistic Beer Co.’s CEO, David Kitchen said about the result, “We would have loved to have taken out the No. 1 spot, but we are still absolutely thrilled with placing 8th. It recognises the increasing number of people who are getting to try, enjoy and vote for our beers as their favourite craft beer. To also have another three beers in the Top 100, including the only stout, is incredibly rewarding and testament to our incredible brewing team, who can brew top quality beer no matter what the style.

“And we had a great day – we celebrated the GABS Hottest 100 across some of our venues with live music, great food, great beer and great company.

“After the couple of years we have all had and the hits to the hospitality industry, this gives us something to celebrate and recognises what we have managed to do as a team despite the challenges.”

The GABS Hottest 100 is the largest craft beer poll in the Southern Hemisphere and celebrates the breadth of great craft beers and craft breweries in Australia.

“We know our beers are good, but to place four of our beers in the countdown is huge to us. To get recognition like this from the public motivates us to keep going and keep producing great beers.

“The success of Hawaiian Haze and all our range is critical in helping Ballistic become one of the biggest independent craft brewers not only in Queensland, but in other states as well,” continues Kitchen. “We’ll keep producing great craft beers and hopefully we will be able to take out the top spot in the future.”

To celebrate their GABS poll campaign, Ballistic Beer Co has developed two special GABS packs, a 12-pack and a 24-pack, which feature a range of their beers including their Oaked XPA, Mex Hot Choc Stout, Water Me Lawn Gose, Low Ha Low Carb Pale Ale, Hawaiian Haze IPA and of course, Hawaiian Haze Pale Ale. Each pack will include a special ‘thank you’ to their voters. These will be available online and at Ballistic Beer Co breweries.
