New Beer Releases: April

April 30th


Mayday Hills Raspberry Saison | Bridge Road Brewers

Bridge Road‘s new release is the latest addition to its Mayday Hills beer project, with beers fermented or aged in wooden foeders or barrels, according to brewer’s notes.

With 500g of raspberries per litre of beer, the 6.6% abv Raspberry Saison is available now.


West Coast IPA | Felons Brewing Co.

Felons has teamed up with Brisbane Street Art Festival and local artist Leans for a 6.6% abv West Coast IPA featuring Citra and Azacca hops.

The beer will be available online as well as direct from the brewery or Barrel Hall from Friday, 30th April.


FIZZER | Moon Dog Craft Brewery

Following the success of its 4.0% abv FIZZER seltzers, Moon Dog has announced four new flavours: Peach Iced Tea, Pink Flamingo, Easy Peasy Lemon Squeeze and Raspberry Sorbet.


The Haze of Revan | Bad Shepherd Brewing Co.

The 14th addition to Bad Shepherd‘s Brew Crew series is the 6.2% abv Haze of Revan NEIPA, featuring Amarillo, Simcoe, Chinook, Citra and Mosaic hops.


Lemonade Sour | Revel Brewing Co.

Revel‘s new Lemonade Sour (4.5% abv) is a revival of the brewery’s kettle sour beers with added freshly squeezed lemon, lime and mint.


Gluten-Free Lager | TWØBAYS Brewing Co.

The latest gluten-free addition to TWØBAYS‘ core range is a 4.5% abv lager featuring Pale and Vienna malts and Saphir and Premiant hops.

The lager is set to reach shelves nationally this week.


Winter IPA | Moo Brew

Moo Brew‘s Winter IPA (6.5% abv) looks like a stout but is brewed to taste like summer.

With flavours of tropical fruits and coconut, the Winter IPA is available for a limited time in bottleshops, on taps and online.


Choc Miint Ice Cream Porter | Black Brewing Co.

Black Brewing Co.‘s new limited release is its latest collaboration with Kuld Creamery.

The Choc Miint Ice Cream Porter (5.0% abv) is a dark ale with notes of chocolate and mint, and is available now.


Vampyre Lovers | Akasha Brewing Company and Newstead Brewing Co.

In tribute to Brisbane punk-rock band Vampyre Lovers, Akasha and Newstead Brewing Co. have teamed up to brew a limited release Red IPA.

Vampyre Lovers (8.0% abv) combines Sabro, Mosaic and Talus hops for flavours of pineapple, coconut, vanilla and passionfruit.


YAMA | Hop Nation Brewing Co.

Hop Nation‘s new rice lager showcases Citra hops in combination with tangy yuzu.

YAMA (4.0% abv) is available online, at the brewery and from local bottle shops now.

Talus More | Jetty Road Brewery

Featuring Talus hops from Yakima Chief and malt sourced from Cryer Malt, Jetty Road‘s new single-hop IPA has aromas of lemon, meringue, melon, stone fruit and citrus.

Talus More (6.5% abv) is available now.


Little Dragon

Sunshine Drinks Co., a sister company to Stone & Wood, has launched an alcoholic ginger beer.

Gluten free and 4.0% abv, Little Dragon will be available in bottleshops and venues around the country as well as the Little Dragon online store and Stone & Wood tasting rooms in Byron Bay and Brisbane.


Knock On Wood and Lamington | Deeds Brewing

Deeds Brewing has two more new releases this week, starting with Knock On Wood (5.6% abv), a barrel-aged pilsner featuring Saaz hops.

The second limited release started as an English Brown Ale with chocolate and caramel flavours before the addition of coconut, giving the beer its name – Lamington (5.5% abv).

Both new beers will be available from April 28th.


Bourbon Barrel-Aged White Stout | Hawkers

The first of Hawkers‘ Vintage Releases for 2021 has arrived in the form of a 6.0% abv Bourbon Barrel-Aged White Stout.

With aromas and flavours of white chocolate, vanilla and coffee, it is available now to order online for pick up from Friday, 23rd April.


WCNZIPA | Otherside Brewing Co.

Otherside Brewing Co.‘s new experimental release is a combination of New Zealand and West Coast IPA styles resulting in a West Coast New Zealand IPA (WCNZIPA).

At 7.2% abv, the new brew is a limited release, available now from the Otherside online store.


“Good Thanks, Yourself?” | Bodriggy Brewing Co.

Bodriggy Brewing Co.‘s new DDH Hazy Pale features notes of tangerine, orange sherbet and blackcurrant thanks to the double dry hopping with Citra, Strata and Meridian hops.

“Good Thanks, Yourself?” (5.5% abv) is available now.


Incubator Mixed Dozen Vol. 7 | Fixation Brewing Company

Fixation has announced the release of its latest Incubator Mixed Dozen.

Volume 7 will feature:

  • Sunstone, a 6.7% abv Red IPA featuring Strata, Ekuanot, Citra and HBC520 hops;
  • Pub Test, a 6.5% Fresh IPA brewed with Citra, Sabro, Amarillo and HBC520 hops;
  • Blurred Logic, a 7.2% abv Oat Cream IPA with Strata and Idaho 7 Cryo hops; and
  • Resinfest 21, a 5.8% abv Wet Hop IPA featuring Galaxy hops.

The new releases are available now at the incubator and online.

Interstrait Transfusion | Hawkers

A new collaboration beer between Fox Friday in Hobart and Melbourne’s Hawkers has been released.

The DDH NEIPA Interstrait Transfusion is available for collection or over the counter at the brewery’s cellar door.


Burleigh Hop Nectar | Burleigh Brewing

Burleigh Brewing is releasing its limited batch Burleigh Hop Nectar, a 6.0% abv Juicy IPA.

The Gold Coast brewery says its brewers combined juicy malts of full-bodied ales with a “unique combination of hops” producing grapefruit, berry and mango notes.

Available in four packs only, delivery nationwide.


Medusa | Helios Brewing

Helios Brewing is bringing back ‘Australia’s best black IPA’ Medusa.

The shorter brewing runs this year means kegs and cans are at a premium – it’s available for pre-order now, and will be released on 28th April.


Fun Socks Talus IPA and NEVIPA | Bright Brewery

Single-hopped with Talus direct from the US, Bright Brewery’s West Coast-style IPA has now launched.

At 6.8% abv and available in 355ml cans, 50-litre kegs and cases of 24, Bright has used American Ale yeast for the beer.

In addition, the North East Victoria IPA was brewed with freshly-picked whole hop cones and mountain botanicals foraged by its brewers.

The Hazy IPA is a 6.7% abv beer includes Galaxy, Eclipse, Vic Secret and Enigma.


Velour Fog and El Jefe | Aether Brewing

Collaborating with the Flour & Chocolate Bakery, Brisbane’s Aether has launched its take on the bakery’s Red Velvet Chocolate Cake.

The 5.0% abv beer will be available from the taproom and online from Friday 23rd April.

In addition, the brewery launched its Mexican lager, El Jefe, last Friday.


Aries ESB | Bad Shepherd Brewing

Bad Shepherd has brought back its Aries ESB, originally launched in 2016,

The beer is a take on a British-style Extra Special Bitter, coming in at 4.9% abv.


Wooden Leg and Triple Hazy | Akasha Brewing Co.

In honour of its sixth birthday, Sydney’s Akasha Brewing has launched its Wooden Leg IIIPA.

Brewed with Simcoe, Amarillo and Centennial hops, it comes in at 10.5% abv.

Vodka Lemon Lime & Bitters | Brookvale Union

4 Pines Brewing Co’s RTD arm Brookvale Union has added a new addition to its ranks, the Vodka Lemon Lime Bitter.

According to the drinks company, the recipe was developed over a number of years to reflect the profile of a classic bitters-style Lemon Lime Bitter.

The 4.0% abv drink is available in packs of 330ml cans from April.

Shelter Brewing Co. is releasing its first limited edition beer, the Squid Ink XXPA.

Breaker of Chains and Watchers on the Wall | Moon Dog Craft Brewery

In honour of Game of Throne’s 10th anniversary (The Iron Anniversary), Moon Dog is teaming up with Warner Bros. Consumer Products for two GoT-themed beers.

Breaker of Chains (7.7% abv) is a chilli and vanilla imperial stout, while Watchers on the Wall (9.0% abv) is a white chocolate imperial white ale with bursts of orange and coriander.

The beers will be available in Victoria from Friday, April 16th and across the rest of Australia from Monday, April 19th.


DKAT Centennial Hazy DIPA and Peanut Butter Imperial Stout | Deeds Brewing

Deeds Brewing is releasing the next addition to its Don’t Know About That single hop series, with the Centennial Hazy DIPA (8.5% abv) spotlighting Centennial hops and their citrus aroma and flavour.

Deed’s Peanut Butter Imperial Stout, featuring Warrior hops, is making a return following its initial 2020 release.

The 10% abv pastry Imperial Stout and the Centennial Hazy DIPA will be available from Wednesday, April 14th.


Hazy IPA | Holgate Brewhouse

Holgate‘s limited release Hazy IPA (6.8% abv) features mango nectar, orange and peach flavours thanks to the addition of Amarillo, Azacca and Mosaic hops.


Rock Dance IPA | Gage Roads Brew Co.

Gage Roads‘ latest release is a West Coast IPA, inspired by the brewery’s 2020 limited release, Loop the Lupe.

Featuring Idaho 7, Citra and Azacca hops, Rock Dance (6.5% abv) will be available all-year round in Western Australia and as a limited release across the East Coast.


Oak & Organisms 2021 Barrel Aged Berliner Weisse | Aether Brewing

Aether Brewing‘s latest limited release is the second release of its barrel ageing program.

Brewed with 50% barley and 50% wheat, the Barrel Aged Berliner Weisse (4.5% abv) will be available from the brewery starting Friday, April 9th.

Mango Sour with Lime | Bridge Road Brewers

Bridge Road‘s latest limited release is a traditional German gose brewed with 500kg of mangoes.

Mango Sour with Lime (4.3% abv) is available online now.


Red Eye Rye | Dainton Beer

Dainton Beer‘s first ever release is making a return with a limited edition retro label inspired by the original artwork.

Originally released back in 2013, the extremely limited Red Eye Rye (5.5% abv) is available now.


Double IPL | Beerfarm

The older brother of Beerfarm‘s classic IPL is back for a limited time.

Double IPL (7.8% abv) features “tangerine, passionfruit and subtle coconut characters” and is available on tap at the brewery or at a local Beerfarm stockist.
