Hawkers has released the next two beers in its Barrel Aged series.
Whiskey Barrel Aged Imperial Stout (13.2% abv) is aged in Single Malt Whisky barrels from Healesville’s Alchemy Distillers.
Brewed in collaboration with Hunted + Gathered, Chocolate Edition Whisky Barrel Aged Imperial Stout (12.3% abv) is brewed with single-origin cacao nibs from Belize.

The Baron of Barrels | Moon Dog Craft Brewery
Moon Dog’s new The Baron of Barrels (11.3% abv) is a mixed barrel aged golden strong ale, aged for two years in three barrels.
The Baron will be available from Friday, 27th August.

Bull Horn | Hemingway’s Brewery
Hemingway’s Brewery has announced its latest limited release.
Bull Horn (5.5% abv) is a robust porter presenting nutty and toasty flavours due to being brewed with Super Pride hops and eight different malts –Pilsner, Munich Type 1, Aurora, Carapils, Caraamber, Rolled Oats, Carafa, Special Type 2, and Light Chocolate.

Bright Brewery | Stubborn Russian Imperial Stout Whisky
Bright Brewery, in collaboration with Backwoods Distilling, have launched the Stubborn Russian Imperial Stout Whisky (French Oak Expression) (46.0% abv) after a two-year long development process.
The limited release, based on the brewery’s popular 2019 Stubborn Russian imperial stout, will be available from 6pm Friday, August 27th online.
The Shape of Hops to Come | Akasha Brewing Co.
The Shape of Hops to Come – Akasha Brewing’s 6.5% abv hazy IPA –has made its return as a super limited Akasha Project release.
Triple dry-hopped with Azacca, El Dorado and Citra hops, it is available now from Akasha’s online store.
Scotch Ale and Vienna Lager | Revel Brewing Co.
Revel Brewing Co. has two upcoming new releases –Scotch Ale (8.5% abv) and Vienna Lager (5.0% abv).
Scotch Ale is described as having a rich, malty body with subtle hints of scotch, while Vienna Lager is “crisp and smooth with undertones of orchard fruits” according to brewer’s notes.
Both new releases will be available from Revel’s online store in the coming days.
Moondance IPA and taproom releases | Black Hops Brewery
Moondance IPA (7.0%) was Black Hops’ most popular release of 2020 and is now making its 2021 return.
The hazy IPA featured Samba, Sabro and Strata hops and is now available from the Black Hops online store and at the taprooms – along with various other taproom releases.
These taproom releases include:
- Forbidden, a 6.6% abv black IPA
- Smash Red, a 6.8% abv Red X malt and Cashmere hop IPA
- Beserker, a 6.5% black IPA
- Zodiac, a 5.2% spiced rum ‘n’ raisin porter

Soapbox Brewing has brewed a Margarita Sour (5.2%), flavoured with salt and coriander seed and infused with lime and orange.

Brew Crew 15: XPA | Bad Shepherd Brewing Co.
The 15th release in Bad Shepherd‘s Brew Crew series is an XPA featuring El Dorado, Citra and Azacca Hops.
Brewed by Aaron the brewery’s Brand Ambassador, XPA (4.7% abv) is available online now.

NEeD Cold IPA | Bridge Road Brewers
Bridge Road has released the fifth beer in its bi-monthly IPA series.
NEeD Vol.5 (7% abv) is a Bridge Road spin on the ‘Cold IPA’ style and is brewed with Motueka, Kohatu and Strata hops.

Dark Unicorn Counter Culture | Stone & Wood
Stone & Wood has announced its latest addition to its Counter Culture limited release range.
Dark Unicorn (7.6% abv) is a malt driven scotch ale aged in Starward Whiskey barrels.
This release will be available through local stockists from Monday, 23 August.

Astro Beer | Bentspoke Brewing Co.
BentSpoke Brewing Co. has collaborated with Australian aerospace company SuperSky Engineering on a new beer.
Astro Beer was created through a National Science Week seed grant from Inspiring Australia, where BentSpoke released a high altitude balloon to capture yeast to create the new beer.
This experimental brew will be available at BentSpoke’s Braddon brewpub.
Conga Lines | Moon Dog Craft Brewery
Moon Dog has released its latest sour beer.
Conga Lines (7.5% abv) has flavours of passionfruit and pineapple with a lactose mouthfeel.

Big Hazy Double IPA (7.8% abv) is brewed with ingredients from Yakima Chief Hops and Cryer Malt with flavours of mango, passionfruit, pineapple and papaya.
This will be available in local venues and in Beerfarm’s online store from Monday, 23 August.
Lark Barrel Aged Imperial JSP IV | Wolf of the Willows Brewing Co.
Wolf of the Willows has released its 2021 version of its Imperial Johnny Smoke Porter.
Brewed in collaboration with Lark Distillery, the Lark Barrel Aged Imperial Johnny Smoke Porter (11.8% abv) was aged in 100L Lark barrels for nine months.
The result is an Imperial Smoke Porter with flavours of dark cocoa, espresso, truffle, vanilla, molasses and a subtle smoke.
This new release will be available through local stockists and the online store.
Hop Burst Eclipse & Citra | Slipstream Brewing Co.
Slipstream Brewing Co. has announced a new addition to its Hop Burst series.
Hop Burst IPA: Eclipse & Citra (6.2% abv) utilises the technique of extreme late hopping where the hopping step is left to the end of the brewing process.

2021 Into The ‘Wood Whisky Barrel-Aged Barleywine | Stomping Ground Brewing Co.
Stomping Ground‘s 2021 Into The ‘Wood limited release is making its packaged debut.
The Whisky Barrel-Aged Barleywine (10.0%) was, as the title suggests, aged in Bakery Hill Whisky barrels, giving it notes of sweet fruit cake, Anzac biscuits and whisky.
