Hawke’s Brewing Co. is bringing beer and leisure-soaked nostalgia to the Sydney CBD, with the Marrickville-based brewery the official and exclusive beer of Sydney Festival, while taking up a month-long residency in the CTA Business Club in Martin Place.

The iconic, “mushroom-tower” building, designed by Harry Seidler, will house the festival’s main music program. The Weary Traveller will play host to 16 nights of emerging Australian and international talent, turning this intriguing and unique venue into a vibrant late night festival music hub. Performances will take place on various nights throughout January, with Hawke’s partnering to supply beer and 1970s pub leisure to The Weary Traveller Bar.

Says Rachel Southwood, Hawke’s Head of Marketing, “We’re incredibly excited to be the official and exclusive beer of this year’s Sydney Festival – from bringing our range of delicious beers to festival goers across the city, to offering a taste of The Bob Hawke Beer & Leisure Centre to guests at the Weary Traveller Bar inside the iconic CTA. We hope everyone who attends has ‘One of the Country’, while supporting and celebrating some of the finest arts and culture programming this city has to offer.”

Hawke’s will be serving up its range of core beers – Lager, Patio Pale & Underdog Session Lager – across various sites of Sydney Festival, while also pouring a special release ‘Hawke’s Sydney Sour’, exclusive to the The Weary Traveller, Frida Kahlo: Life of an Icon, and The Bob Hawke Beer & Leisure Centre.
