Boatrocker Brewing Co., Australia’s Champion Medium Independent Brewery 2018 and Australia’s Barrel Aged and Australian Wild Ale specialists, is opening its Barrel Room to present Ramjet Day 2018. An exclusive one-night-only celebration of Boatrocker’s Ramjet 2018 vintage release, will feature tastings, tours, experiments and Ramjet infused food.
Ramjet, one of Australia’s most highly awarded beers and Champion Strong Beer at the Australian Independent Brewers Awards 2018, is an English style Imperial Stout aged in Starward whisky casks.
Matt Houghton, founder and head brewer of Boatrocker, will help narrate the journey of Ramjet, from grain, to barrel, to glass. Joining Boatrocker on the night will be a distiller from Starward, who will be slinging tasters of its incredible single malt whisky and answering questions about all things whisky.
Boatrocker is renowned for its cellar-before-release ethos. When it first released Ramjet, Boatrocker cellared a number of cases for an event such as this. Due to the overwhelming success of Ramjet over the years, Boatrocker can’t offer a full vertical tasting, but will be showcasing its very first 2013 vintage, followed by the 2015 and 2017 vintages, and then the 2018 vintage.
Boatrocker will also be offering the 2018 vintage on nitro, Dramjet ‘espresso’ martini – a coffee infused nitro experience, plus another couple of secret variants…
Participants in Ramjet Day 2018 receive an exclusive t-shirt, a bottle of Ramjet Vintage 2018, plus the prioritised opportunity to purchase further Ramjet ahead of retail release (limit 1 case per person).
The Ramjet 2018 vintage is weighing in at a hefty 13.4 per cent ABV, and promises to be something of a heavyweight in the ageing stakes.
Please note that there are limited tickets available.
