Blokepedia is hosting “Conversations that Matter” at Balter Brewing Co. on Wednesday 18th of March 2020.
Join Tim Baker, Brett “Robbo” Robinson and Nathan “The Hog” Hedge for a panel discussion as they share their stories and experiences and talk about some of the issues and topics that impact the lives of Australian men.
They will be exploring a range of topics, including;
Tim Baker is an award-winning author, journalist and storyteller specializing in surfing history and culture, working across a wide variety of media from books and magazines to film, video, and theatre.
Tim is the best-selling author of The Rip Curl Story, Occy, High Surf, Bustin’ Down The Door, Surf For Your Life, Century of Surf and Surfari. He is a former editor of Tracks, Surfing Life and Slow Living magazines, and a three-time winner of the Surfing Australia Hall of Fame Culture Award.
Tim’s life changed on July 7, 2015, when he was diagnosed, out of the blue, with advanced prostate cancer, radically upending his life and propelling him on a journey of personal discovery and healing.
Tim has since forged his own self-styled path to maintain good health and quality of life, combining conventional treatments with profound lifestyle changes, while facing the challenge of living with cancer.
Ben Alexander is one of the most experienced props in Australian rugby history, representing the Wallabies 72 times. Alexander was with the Brumbies since 2008 and made over 150 appearances for the club.
A highly intelligent, engaging speaker and astonishingly driven player, Ben Alexander inspires audiences of all ages to focus on success and aim to be the best they can be.
Being a successful sportsperson, Ben has an appreciation for mental and physical health and wellbeing. Ben will be sharing his experiences in elite sport, talking about the importance of mateship and sharing his insights on how to manage and maintain good mental health.
Brett Robinson has worked as a soft tissue therapist and High Performance Coach with Paralympic and Olympic champions, taking the honour of Paralympic Coach Of The Year 2018 for Track & Field.
After experiencing massive adversity in is life, Brett decided to finish this career in his area of passion to pursue his deeper mission and work with all community members, not just elite athletes. Brett’s passion for teaching all humans how to “tap into their inner excellence” and bringing out the best version of themselves is infectious and the results speak for themselves.
His philosophies of mindset coaching, Emotional Intelligence training and connecting the mind-body experience allow his clients from all around the world to significantly improve their quality of life.
