We’re thrilled to announce the return of High Country Hops Festival in 2019. Now in its 5th year, This is the only festival of its kind in mainland Australia;
A celebration of the Victorian Hop Harvest and the launch our Fresh Hop beers, this is a once a year opportunity for craft beer lovers to taste the freshest beers imaginable, straight from the source!
Over 2 days (March 30/31), our brewery carpark in Beechworth comes to life, as the 8 brewers of the region’s High Country Brewery Trail to pour their wares.
With a selection of our favourite local winemakers and distillers, carefully curated local food offerings and an eclectic, suitably festive musical soundtrack, there’s something for everyone.
This year for the first time, we’ll be hosting some special guest brewers; and they just happen to be 2 of the hottest names in Australian craft beer.
Hop Nation and Wildflower Brewing + Blending will be taking the beer offering at High Country Hops to innovative and exciting new places. And we’re chuffed!
We’ll also be offering a unique opportunity to experience Beechworth up close, with a ‘glamping’ village being built in the centre of Beechworth’s historic precinct for the very first time – Giving a handful of lucky punters unparalleled access to our town, our beers and our brewery.
The Musical Lineup, is rambunctious and rollicking – And Includes Swampy Street Jazz courtesy of Sydney group Low Down Riders and Big Band Folk Jams all the way from Port Fairy and the Southern Ocean Sea Band.
On the culinary front – There’s Banh Mi and BBQ There’s Tacos and Thai. There’s even Beer Ice Cream. Have we got you yet?
As the number of craft breweries in the High Country continues to grow, the sense of camaraderie, spirit of collaboration and collective striving for quality remains. This is an undoubtedly unique region on Australia’s craft beer map.
Joining us from our neck of the woods will be: Black Dog Brewery / Blizzard Brewing Co. / Bright Brewery / King River Brewing / Mitta Mitta Brewing Co. / Rutherglen Brewery / Sweetwater Brewing Co.
The High Country Brewers all share strong links with each other and with our local hop growers.
This year for the first time, we’ll be hosting some special guest brewers from further afield. Joining the festival line up are Wildflower Brewing and Blending from Sydney, whose barrel aged blends are amongst the most artfully crafted and exciting beers coming out of the country at the minute.
And rounding out the showcasing breweries are Footscray legends, Hop Nation who’ll be slinging their exciting range of ultra-refined esoteric ales.
