When you’ve got a good thing, keep it going, and Howard Smith Wharves are doing just that with the addition of Beers on the Lawn to their popular and much loved ‘Weekends on the Lawn’ event.
Held on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th October from 1 – 8pm, the free Beers on the Lawn event will bring together local brewers and tastemakers, including Howard Smith Wharves’ very own Felons Brewing Co., to showcase the best of the region’s beer and cider.
With Brisbane’s brewing scene being one of the best in Australia, Howard Smith Wharves are passionate about giving the city a beer festival in a world class location.
With plans to make Beers on the Lawn an annual event, Felons Brewing Co’s General Manager, Ash Cranston, said they are excited about the upcoming weekend.
“Beers on the Lawn is the perfect way to connect the community to their local brewers, and we’ve got some amazing breweries here in Brisbane, so there’s a lot to showcase. It will be a great family-friendly event,” said Ash.
Along with Felons Brewing Co., breweries appearing at Beers on the Lawn include Range Brewing, Helios Brewing Co., Slipstream Brewing Co., Aether Brewing Co., Semi-Pro Brewing Co., Brouhaha Brewing Co., Ballistic Brewing Co. and Soapbox Beer.
In addition to the guest brewers, there will also be live music, lawn games and food stalls with Lawn Classic Burgers, Falafel Burgers, Charcoal Grilled Chicken Skewers, Roti Canai and the Aussie favourite, sausage and bread, all on offer.
For those who want to switch it up from sampling beers, there will also be a wine selection and Aperol Spritzes available.
CEO of Howard Smith Wharves, Luke Fraser, said of Beers on the Lawn, “There’s no better way to spend the weekend than sipping a cold beer while taking in the epic river views from Howard Smith Wharves, so we can’t wait launch our inaugural Beers on the Lawn weekend.”
