Southwest Beer Fest is excited to announce that the first annual event will be held in Toowoomba, on Australia Day 2019.
“We noticed that there was a distinct lack of great events in our region every Australia Day, and after speaking with many of our patrons we learned that most people go away from Toowoomba during this time. We had an idea for a beer festival featuring only Queensland Independent breweries, so figured we would hold this on Australia Day, in an effort to give locals a reason to stay in Toowoomba and hopefully attract a few visitors to our region, boosting local tourism,” festival organiser Adrian Cubit said.
“When scouting venues, Clifford Park was a no-brainer. It’s the first place we thought of because it has excellent facilities and is close enough to the CBD. I think it’s underutilised as an event space, so I would love to see more events held here in the future.”
