With the cold weather well and truly settled in this year the Australian Brewery in Rouse Hill is going to make the most of it.
Working off the back of the successful re-launch of the If You Like Pina Colada NEIPA onsite at the brewery, the venue is going to be running beer events in its Australian Taphouse and Outdoor Craft Yard every two months on a Sunday.
These will include guest beers, tap takeovers, presentations, collaborations and brewer Q&A’s. Fire and Ice, a dark beer takeover will be the second cab off the rank on Sunday July 8th kicking off at 2pm.
Guest beers for the night include Nail Stout from Nail Brewing in Western Australia and Pirate Life Stout from South Australia. The Australian Brewery’s Into the Void oatmeal stout and its GABS Festival beer It’s the way it Shatters that Matters a 6% organic honey brown ale will also be tapped in the courtyard.
The fire pits will be keeping the cold at bay and a spit roast lamb and smoked meats will be keeping everybody fed. With the dark and cold beer on tap the afternoon will be a true tribute to the song of fire and ice.
“In this weather I find it hard to think of a better afternoon than a Sunday with a bunch of dark beers and some slow cooked and spit roasted meat by a fire.” David Ward – Australian Brewery
Future events will include a brew off with each of the five AB brewers making a nano batch beer after drawing styles out of a hat. Another is an “inner west out west” tap takeover for Sydney Beer week with a big cohort of the celebrated inner west brewers coming out to slug it out in Western Sydney.
The Australian Brewery opened its doors in 2010 and is independently owned and operated by a Family of six brothers. In 2012 the Brewery was the 1st craft producer in Australia to package exclusively in cans for fresher beer and to be more environmentally friendly. In 2017 the Brewery won 9 x gold medals across the three major beer awards in Australia.
