Wolf of the Willows Brewing has announced a new distribution partnership with Square Keg, the subsidiary of the Stone & Wood Group.
Effective June 1, Square Keg will nationally represent Wolf of the Willows’ beers in both packaged and keg formats.
Square Keg had been impressed by Wolf of the Willows, “because first of all, they make bloody great beer,” managing partner Garry Hastings told Australian Brews News.
And he said the distributor had also been attracted to the “passion, commitment and thought” that founders Scotty and Renae McKinnon put into everything they do.
“Their core range is the XPA, IPA, India Saison and their JSP, the Johnny Smoke Porter. They’ve got some other seasonals that they do as well,” Hastings said.
“The XPA is the most dominant but the others aren’t far behind. We see opportunity for all of them.”
Square Keg is currently recruiting for a sales rep in Sydney, which Hastings said will be a priority market for all brands in his portfolio.
“I think we offer them an opportunity to expand and grow in markets where they haven’t been at their potential,” he said.
Wolf of the Willows founder Scotty McKinnon thanked the brewer’s previous distribution partners including Calibre Craft Beer Trading Co, Hemlock Distribution, Polkadot Liquor and Exceller Agencies.
“We have enjoyed great relationships with all businesses. They have been instrumental to the growth of Wolf of the Willows and have represented us with integrity,” he said.
“We have a genuine respect and admiration for the people in these businesses and we know this is a sentiment echoed by all within the craft beer industry.”
