Following their hugely successful inaugural year in 2014, the Craft Beer Awards return in 2015. The Craft Beer Awards celebrate the very best of craft beer in Australia: the people, the ingredients, the processes and of course, the beer.
The Craft Beer Industry Association (CBIA) is the national body representing the craft beer industry and in 2014 began the Craft Beer Awards to encourage and support excellence in the industry. The competition, held during Sydney Craft Beer Week, is open to all Australian breweries and brewing companies eligible for CBIA Membership (an Australian brewer producing less than 40 million litres per annum.)
The Craft Beer Awards are an invaluable platform to showcase the continual improvement of Australian craft beer and provide a unique chance for brewers to benchmark themselves against the best in the business.
Last year newcomers to the scene Modus Operandi won the coveted Kegstar Champion Australian Craft Beer award with their beer Former Tenant. Jasmin Wearin of Modus Operandi, says, “The Craft Beer Awards truly reflect the needs and progressive nature of our craft beer industry and is unquestionably the night of nights on the craft beer calendar minus the gold Logies and fake tans!”
Entries for the Craft Beer Awards open on Monday 17th August and close Monday 31st August.
In 2015 the Craft Beer Awards will accept entries in both draught and packaged formats. Competition entry and style guidelines can be found on the Craft Beer Awards page of the CBIA website.
The Craft Beer Awards ceremony, a highlight on the annual craft beer calendar, will be held on Friday night the 23rd of October at a yet-to-be-disclosed location where the forward thinking, technically brilliant personalities of the craft beer industry come together to raise a glass to creativity, craft and class. All welcome. Tickets will go on sale from Friday the 4th of September, 2015.
Associate Judge Programme
In 2015 the Craft Beer Awards will once again be running the Associate Judge Programme. Interested members of the industry can apply via the Craft Beer Awards page on the CBIA website.
Craft Beer Awards Volunteers
The Craft Beer Awards are not possible without the hard work of a dedicated volunteer team. In 2015 there are number of positions available in helping with the judging and the awards ceremony. Interested parties can apply via the Craft Beer Awards page on the CBIA website.
