AIBA judging postponed

March 18, 2020 by Media Release

The Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria (RASV) has made the difficult decision to postpone the judging of the 2020 Australian International Beer Awards (AIBA).

The AIBA was scheduled to commence judging at Melbourne Showgrounds on Wednesday 13 May, concluding on Friday 15 May.

The health of AIBA judges, stewards and staff is the highest priority of the RASV and in the current climate regarding the COVID-19 outbreak, postponing the event to a later date is believed to be the best option for all involved.

All fully paid exhibitors will have the option to remain in the Awards until a suitable date for judging is announced.

Recognising the impact on many of the small breweries that have entered the Awards, an option of a full refund will be available to those that choose this. For all paid exhibitors please complete the form below to inform RASV of your decision regarding your entry fees.

Can I still enter this year?

Online entries will remain open beyond the original closing date of Friday 27 March. Exhibitors will be advised of a new closing date for entries when the revised judging dates are finalised.

When will judging be held?

RASV will endeavour to keep exhibitors informed on AIBA updates in the current climate surrounding the COVID-19 outbreak, and all exhibitors will be notified as soon as new judging dates are confirmed with entries remaining open online.

Should I still send my samples?

In order to ensure that all entries are judged in their best possible condition, we are currently asking exhibitors to await further communication from the AIBA prior to arranging delivery of their samples.
