With many frontline workers on call throughout Summer and the Christmas season, award winning Mornington Peninsula Brewery are looking to help them find a way to celebrate safely with their colleagues and friends, by gifting cases of their non-alcoholic beer varietal, Mornington Free.

Mornington Peninsula Brewery will be offering a free 24-can case of Mornington Free to Emergency Service workers based in Victoria this December, including Police Officers, Paramedics, Firefighters, Doctors and Nurses. Cases will be available for collection on Wednesday the 16th & 23rd December between 3pm-7pm at the original brew pub of Mornington Peninsula Brewery on 72 Watt Road, Mornington.

In order to collect on this offer, Emergency Service workers will need to be based in Victoria and must show a form of current ID that identifies their profession. One hundred cases will be available for gifting across the two days, with a one case limit per person, on a first come first served basis.

Matt Bebe, Founder of Mornington Peninsula Brewery says, “We know for many of our local emergency workers, having alcohol at their Christmas parties or gatherings is rightly just not an option. Therefore, we wanted to do something special to show our support and keep our frontline workers hydrated through the hot summer months, by offering them a delicious cold beer, without the alcohol. While it’s been a really hard year for many, our emergency workers have gone above and beyond for our communities in 2020 and therefore we want to help them finish the year on a positive note.”

Mornington Peninsula Breweries Head of Innovation, Roland Thiemann says, “Mornington Free truly opens up a brand new offering for those seeking to reduce their alcohol intake, or for those who cannot consume any alcohol due to circumstances such as being designated drivers and being in on-call emergency professions.

“With the growing acceptability of non-alcoholic options, and the sober-curious movement, the demand has grown for these alternatives to taste just as good as the real thing. The beauty of our method, is that it helps the beer maintain its crisp flavour and is not a disappointment on the palette for beer lovers.”

Mornington Free Pale Ale is brewed using a unique recipe and fermented with a special yeast, where instead of producing regular alcohol it produces esters, which are extremely important in giving beer its distinctive taste and mouthfeel.

Unlike lagers, Pale Ales use aroma hops to give the beer a fruity flavour, which Mornington Peninsula Brewery believe makes it the perfect beer variant to transition to non-alcoholic. Due to the hops profile of citrus and passionfruit in Mornington Free, these bold flavours stand out and help minimise the taste (or lack thereof) of the alcohol.

Together with the esters, these flavours combine to create an excellent drop that is easy going, balanced, and refreshing.

Mornington Free is now available to purchase at a range of independent retailers and online at: https://www.craftcartel.com.au/product/mornington-free-pale-ale/
