Brewmanity Beer Co’s latest drop – The Mouth of the South – has been released to celebrate their upcoming move to South Melbourne.
The 4.2% draught beer pays homage to the strong history of pubs and publicans that South Melbourne is famous for.
It’s recipe for the beer was dreamed up within the grounds of Bells Hotel, where legendary publican Billy Bell set up South Melbourne’s first pub brewery; and just a hop, step and jump away from where the new Brewmanity brewery will be born next year.
Brewmanity co-founder and former AFL star David Neitz says The Mouth of the South is brewed in an old school way, using all Victorian ingredients, with no preservatives and no complications.
“This is a beer for everybody. It’s super smooth, super refreshing and just a bloody good beer,” Neitz says.
Neitz shared the first cans of “Mouth” off the production line with Warwick Capper during filming of a tongue-in-cheek video, which sees the former flamboyant footballer pleading to be the beer’s ambassador and the true ‘mouth of the south.’
“I’ve spent more time up in the air than Neil Armstrong, I played 124 games, kicked 388 goals… I’m the Mouth of the South,” Capper says.
Neitz sends his apologies to Capper, believing the no-nonsense beer speaks for itself.
“The beer doesn’t just taste good, it does good too,” Neitz says.
A part of Brewmanity’s appeal is its social deed of raising important funds for Neale Daniher’s fight against MND.
Since it was founded in 2015, Brewmanity has raised over $275,000 for the cause with each beer adding to the cause.
The Mouth of the South will be distributed by Independent Beverage Partners and will be available exclusively at IGA, Cellarbrations, Duncans and The Bottle O outlets from September 17.
