Today, the Fermentum and Lion teams come together to support the growth of this great business and its brands by creating new opportunities for our people, our drinkers and our partners.

For now, Fermentum will continue to operate as a stand-alone business but will partner with the broader Lion company to drive growth with drinkers and customers.

Rodney O’Connell, Lion Beverage Director, will join the existing leadership team of Nick Boots, Garry Hastings, Chris Pensabene, Elise Skinner and Rich Crowe. The founders of Stone & Wood are still on the end of the phone for ongoing guidance and support.

“We are excited to get started on building the next phase of this great beer and beverage company, getting more of the award-winning beers into eager drinkers’ hands,” said Rodney O’Connell.

“Joining with Stone & Wood, Two Birds, Fixation, Sunrise Drinks and the entire Fermentum team is an honour; and I am looking forward to working with everyone to continue to grow the entire portfolio.”

“For our valued hospitality and retail customers, sales representative interactions with Fermentum continue as normal for now.”

“We want to keep things as simple as possible, acknowledging this is a very busy period as we move out of Covid restrictions and head into the festive season,” said O’Connell.

Head of Fermentum Marketing, Garry Hastings, said, “Our entire portfolio will start to get more opportunities and be able to connect to more drinkers. This is exciting because we know our brands and their stories are unique in the Australian market.”

We look forward to sharing more news in the coming months as plans for the new brewery in Murwillumbah progress and the impact of Fermentum’s “Beer As A Force For Good” approach continues to deliver positive outcomes for the broader community.
