The new beer, Nas XPA, is designed with low or no vision people in mind in support of International Women’s Day 2022.
Akasha’s latest limited release beer, Nas XPA – released under its Akasha Projects label – is the result of a collaboration between Akasha, Reckless Brewing Co. and ABC presenter and Disability Affairs reporter Nas Campanella. Working together, Akasha and Campanella have implemented a high contrast design for the product’s modernist-inspired can art, which also spells the name of the beer in raised Braille on the can itself.
The release is in support of International Women’s Day 2022. “Break the bias – the theme of this year’s International Women’s Day – has so many applications,” says Campanella. “As well as helping women on their journeys of self-empowerment and self-determination, it’s an opportunity to help overcome bias in all its forms.”
The release of Nas XPA marks the second IWD collaboration between Akasha and Reckless Brewing Company, the latter of which is presently building its first independent brewery in Bathurst, NSW. Grace Fowler, Marketing Manager at Akasha and co-founder of Reckless, says “Women make up two-thirds of the team at Reckless, so IWD is a big deal for us. It’s been an honour to partner with someone like Nas for such a worthy cause.”
All proceeds from the sale of the beer will go to support Akasha, Reckless and Campanella’s elected charity partner, the Leichhardt Women’s Community Health Center – a non-government, not-for-profit clinic delivering low-cost and affordable medical, allied and complementary health care and education to improve women’s health – and will be available for a limited time only from Akasha and supporting stockists.
NAS XPA will be available from the 2nd March, 2022
