Craft beer connoisseurs rejoice! The world’s first carbon negative brewery, BrewDog, is expanding into an epic new three-story bar in the heart of Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley this Spring – opening doors at 12pm on Friday 11th November 2022.

The Scottish-born brand will bring the new bar to life in Fortitude Valley’s heritage listed Tranberg House to rub shoulders with the historic See War and Co. building as a welcome addition to the bustling nightlife of Brunswick Street.

Beer lovers can look forward to tasting BrewDog’s iconic range of craft beers in the new Brunswick Street bar spanning 20 taps across session-strength pale ales and lagers to epic imperial stouts and sours, including the ‘BrewDog & Friends’ range of guest local breweries.

BrewDog brews at the new bar will be sustainably made at their solar-powered Murarrie brewery and taproom, and are 100% carbon negative – so patrons can enjoy climate conscious beers, ginger beer and shandies. A selection of cocktails, wine, spirits and non-alcoholic drinks will be available for non-beer drinkers.

The mouthwatering farm-to-table junk food menu – featuring 50% plant based items – will satisfy every taste bud with weekly highlights including BrewDog’s signature, all-year-round specials, and All You Can Eat Wings for $25 on Wing Wednesdays.

BrewDog Head of Operations, Calvin McDonald said the iconic Brunswick Street location was the perfect home for the BrewDog brand.

“After BrewDog’s DogTap Murarrie becoming a favourite beer spot for many locals, we couldn’t be more excited to bring our second venue to life and can’t wait to welcome more Brisbanites in to enjoy our award-winning range of craft beers and bites,” Mr McDonald said.

“Our new Fortitude Valley bar includes state-of-the-art facilities, our classic industrial and comfy fit out using a range of sustainable materials, fridges brimming with epic craft beers, merch, plus two iconic 6m long shuffleboards.

“The opening of this new location really marks an exciting step forward in our Australian journey, and the perfect spot for us to continue quenching the thirst and wowing the taste buds of more craft beer aficionados.”

The new Fortitude Valley bar is also pioneering a radical new business model to benefit its 35 new employees across kitchen, bar, management and wait staff and entice new talented locals to join the team.

“We know that our bars are nothing without the charismatic, passionate folk that help us make magic happen so we’re also excited to bring staff of the new venue into our hospitality model which sees 50% of all profits from BrewDog Bars shared amongst the team,” McDonald said.

“By sharing 50% of profits with our crew, we’re setting the bar higher for hospitality workers everywhere and it’s an initiative we can’t wait for the new Fortitude Valley crew to benefit from.”

BrewDog is a B-Corp certified craft industry leader in sustainability, powering beer production across its Australian brewery using solar energy.

The brand’s commitment to producing environmentally friendly beer also extends to a variety of local initiatives including packaging that’s 99% recyclable, donating used grain to farmers in Northern NSW and crafting their famous Lost Lager using recycled bread from Coles bakery.

BrewDog is also set to take part in a number of mammoth global sustainability initiatives in 2023 including the Lost Forest (named after their Lost Lager), a 9000 acre plot of land purchased by BrewDog to embark on one the UK’s largest reforestation initiatives. They also have a partnership with Eden Projects which is set to employ local villagers in communities across Africa, Asia and South America to facilitate the plantation of 1 million trees.

To celebrate the new opening, BrewDog are giving their first 200 customers through the door the chance to win free beer for a year and announcing the lucky winner on opening day.
