2024 AIBA entries to open soon

Entries for the 2024 Melbourne Royal Australian International Beer Awards (AIBA), the world’s largest annual beer competition, will open on Tuesday, January 30.

Entries will close on March 8, while delivery will occur from April 1 to 19 and judging will occur from May 7 to 10 ahead of the awards presentation on May 16.

The AIBA evaluates draught and packaged beer as well as beer packaging design, with more than 400 breweries across 21 countries submitting 2,826 entries in 2023 as the competition celebrated its 30th year.

The 2024 AIBA program features several updates. The New World Lager class has been split into Modern Lager and Modern Pilsner, while the Modern Pale Ale class has been discontinued.

Further, the US Brewers Association Edition Beer Style Guidelines welcomed two new additions in 2023, including West Coast-Style India Pale Ale and Dessert or Pastry Stout.
