Bridge Road Brewers celebrates a milestone 18th anniversary this weekend on Saturday June 10th .

One of Victoria’s pioneering craft breweries, the Beechworth icon was established by Ben and Maria Kraus with a 10HL microbrewery outfit in Ben’s dad’s back shed in 2005. By 2006 the business opened its doors at Beechworth’s historic 1850’s-era Coachhouse and Stables where the brewery and taphouse are located today.

In a history studded with highlights Bridge Road Brewers has been the recipient of countless awards, including 15 medals (with 4 gold medals) at the recent Australian Independent Beer Awards.

In 2023 the brewery was recognised as Victoria’s Best Brewery Venue (Beer Cartel Craft Beer Survey) and achieved the highest ranked Victorian beer in the GABS Hottest 100 Craft Beer Countdown. A 9 th place for Beechworth Pale Ale maintained Bridge Road Brewers’ status as the only independent beer to have featured in every count of the GABS Hottest 100’s existence.

Owner Ben Kraus stated this week’s birthday milestone is a testament to the dedication of the team, and their unwavering approach to strong values of independence, authenticity and quality.

“Everything we do at Bridge Road Brewers comes back to our values. Maintaining our focus towards excellent quality, being authentic in all we do and remaining independent amongst an industry rife with multi-national takeovers has kept our business at the forefront of things throughout the years.

“Our team are 100% dedicated to pushing the boundaries of what is possible in craft brewing. We like to think that by being creative and innovative we are able to keep our products relevant and exciting to craft beer drinkers, whilst keeping true to those who have followed and supported us throughout the journey.”

The Brewery will commemorate its 18th anniversary with a birthday celebration on Friday June 16th at their Beechworth brewhouse and release of their highly popular anniversary beer, the B2 Bomber.

Ben Kraus said the B2 Bomber’s release is one of the most anticipated releases of the year.

“We’ve been brewing B2 Bomber every year since 2010, this year’s version is quite special as it commemorates 18 years in the business. It’s the most anticipated beer we create, this year we’re offering a very limited edition pack for presale which includes both the 2023 release and a 1-year cellared bottle of 2022’s Mach 12.

“We’re ready to celebrate and will hold a special birthday event at Bridge Road Brewers HQ on Friday June 16. This will be free entry with the B2 Bomber on tap for the first time, plus all of the favourites our customers have come to love over the years.”
