Australia’s largest beer awards, the Australian International Beer Awards, has itself won an award being named the Corporate Event of the Year at the National Meetings & Events Australia Awards.

The gong was taken out by Melbourne Royal for its execution of the 2022 Australian International Beer Awards, held in the Victoria Pavilion at the Melbourne Showgrounds.

Melbourne Royal was in contention for the national award, having won the Victorian Corporate Event of the Year Award in May, while Senior Events Manager, Olivia Belvedere, was also nominated on the night for the prestigious National In-House Event Manager of the Year Award after also taking out the Victorian award.

Melbourne Royal was highlighted for its innovation and highly successful delivery of the AIBAs, with the event showcasing the best beers from around the world and bringing together brewers, industry leaders, and beer enthusiasts to celebrate the art and science of brewing.

The Australian International Beer Awards is the largest draught and packaged beer awards program in the world and has been celebrating excellence in brewing in Australia and around the globe for 30 years.

“What an incredible achievement for the Melbourne Royal team to have won the national Corporate Event of the Year,” said Melbourne Royal CEO, Brad Jenkins.

“To be recognised on the national stage is a testament to our commitment to excellence in event management and the hard work that goes into ensuring the Australian International Beer Awards event delivers on its reputation as the biggest and best beer awards program in the world.

“Melbourne Royal will continue to innovate and deliver exceptional events that showcase the best of Australia and the world, and we welcome all those looking to host their next event in Melbourne to keep the Melbourne Showgrounds front of mind,” Mr Jenkins said.

The Meetings & Events Australia Awards have been recognising excellence in the events industry through its awards program for more than 30 years. It is the only awards program that encompasses the entire breadth of the Australian events sector.

Melbourne Royal also credited its presenting partners, Cryer Malt and Barrett Burston, for making the awards possible.
